‘a sweeping storm’ is a whirlwind of colour and simplified forms portraying connections, disconnections, spaces and interactions. Melbourne artist, -sharon, presents a series of works exploring her experiences with synaesthesia.
Synaesthesia is a cross-wiring of the senses, where hearing sounds or certain words results in seeing colours. At least 4 in 100 people have some form of synaesthesia and any combination of mixed senses can occur.
-sharon illustrates what she has seen during conversations, interactions, and emotions. She delves into complex themes of darkness and light, using powerful combinations of colour and icons of childlike simplicity.
‘a sweeping storm’ encourages you to explore your own emotions and to connect with your senses.
